love this little truck, only downsides are fuel mileage considering use in non-highway environment.
i\´ve had this truck for a year and have been keeping tabs on the fuel consumption. average is 12.5 l/100km. in the city if i let my father drive the thing it goes up to 16 quite quickly, my worst city rate is 15, best highway is 10.5l/100km. i use mohawk/husky 90 with ethanol and the ONLY way to drive this thing to avoid having to stop at every station you see is like grandpa\´d drive with a very tender right foot. if you keep away from the accelerations and just tick along at 100km/h it\´s great on gas, otherwise it truly, honestly sucks. suspension and 4wd is great on gravel, potholes no sweat, only parts replacement so far is back nitrogen cyl. for glass liftgate. using Q synthetic all the time, hasn\´t needed any oil added at all, oil changes every 5-7000 km are ample and keep it running well. had the tranny fluid changed early (30k vs 80k recommendded) and found moderate metal filings on mag-drain plug. all\´s running ok. tranny\´s always sounded a little \´18 wheeler\´ though.
i\´d buy it again but would still love to find a way to get it to run on 4 of it\´s 6 cylinders and get the fuel consumption down as for normal highway use, it\´s engine is way too big. |
