| I had a Rex while in Okinawa and it was a blast! Had the 550cc engine and got outstanding mileage, something like 85 miles to the gallon with the two cylinder subaru motorcycle engine in it. Top speed wasn\´t anything to write home about, but the top speed on Okinawa being 60kph that was ok. Mine had the manual transmission with the clutch being on the gas pedal. Whe you released the gas all the way , the clutch was engaged and you could shift gears, but NOT first gear. You had to be stopped for that. The only problem that I had was, being on the rock(Okinawa), the car started getting cancer (rust) especially where the roof met the body, right at the drip rails, and at the little air vents at the back window. I\´m sure the little car is long since met it\´s demise in a crusher\´, but I have always wondered if getting one here in the states is possible, it\´d be kind of cool having one...Thanks |
