09 Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart discussion forum:

I have a stock 2009 Ralliart (Canadian model) that has a distinctly uneven idle when the engine is cold and has been doing it since it was brand new. This can be heard in the revs and seen on the tach but it smooths out to a normal idle when it warms up. It has even stalled a few times on start, and not even in cold weather.
The dealership says the idle is normally uneven as the engine is tuned for high performance load and the designers did not prioritize an even idle. They said if anything were wrong there\\\´d be a warning light. My first doubt is that these aren\\\´t really mechanics if they can\\\´t diagnose a problem unless a computer tells them exactly what the problem is. Anyway I suspect they\\\´re lying about the idle and I can\\\´t believe a modern new car would do that.
Anyone with 2009 or later Ralliarts who can comment about their experience? |
