I like Cars++ top charts feature. How hard would it be to expand the features of this search to cover more parameters, like seating capacity, towing capacity, and to allow searching on multiple parameters.
The reason I ask is that I can not seem to find ANY sites that have comprehensive search capabilities, and it looks like Cars++ may be the closest.
As an example, I would like to search all vehicles 4 years or newer that can carry 6 or more passengers and rank them by gas mileage. I\´ve found the Kia Rondo and Mazda 5. Also, Toyota Highlander and Suzuki XL7 are not too bad. It took me a long time to find those, and I am not sure if there might be some better options out there, but every other search site makes me start out by choosing new or used, then makes me say if I want a car, crossover, SUV, or van. I really don\´t care what class the vehicle is in or whether it\´s new or a couple years old. If it meets my needs, I\´m interested.
I had a similar problem a few years ago. I was researching vehicles that could tow at least 5000 pounds. I basically had to guess which ones might be able to do it and then go look up the specs on each to check. It seems crazy that with all the computer technology we have, I can\´t do these simple searches.
I guess I\´d also welcome any feedback on 6+ passenger vehicles with good gas mileage (probably a car with cramped 3rd row seat and an underpowered engine). Also, if someone knows of a site that already has a good search system, that would be geat too.
Thanks. Michael  |
